CNH India, a global leader in agriculture with brands like New Holland and Case IH, recently celebrated a significant production milestone—700,000 tractors at its Greater Noida manufacturing facility. The plant, known for producing a wide range of tractor variants from 35 HP to 120 HP, serves the dual needs of both brands. This milestone was marked by the presence of Gerrit Marx, the newly appointed CEO of CNH, during his visit to India, reaffirming the company’s commitment to the market and its growth potential.
A Legacy of Excellence
Since beginning operations in 1999, the Greater Noida facility has grown steadily, reaching an annual production capacity of 60,000 tractors. Today, the plant manufactures not just tractors but also engines, PTOs (Power Take-Offs), and axles for domestic use and export to more than 75 countries, including markets in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Australia, and North America.
Reflecting on the milestone, Narinder Mittal, Regional Manager and Managing Director of CNH India & SAARC, stated:
“I am thrilled to celebrate this achievement of producing 700,000 tractors with our CEO and Indian team. This milestone underscores our commitment to the ‘Make in India’ initiative and supports agricultural development in the country. It is a testament to our team’s hard work and the trust our customers place in our products. India remains a significant player on the global stage, offering immense opportunities and scale. Our focus on technology and innovation will continue to drive our success here.”
Cutting-Edge Manufacturing
Spanning 60 acres, the Greater Noida plant is one of India’s most advanced tractor manufacturing facilities, employing approximately 1,200 people. The plant is dedicated to sustainable practices, including:
- Solar Energy: Rooftop solar panels provide clean energy to the facility.
- Miyawaki Forest Project: The site actively promotes reforestation using the Miyawaki method, planting dense clusters of native tree species.
These initiatives reflect CNH India’s commitment to environmental sustainability alongside agricultural innovation.
A Strong Presence in India
For over 25 years, CNH India has served the country through its brands Case IH, New Holland, and CASE Construction Equipment, delivering world-class products under the “Make in India” initiative. In 2018, the company expanded its offerings by launching CNH Capital India, a financial division aimed at providing tailored solutions across its portfolio.
With its ongoing investment in technology, infrastructure, and sustainability, CNH India continues to strengthen its position as a leader in the agricultural and industrial equipment sectors.
This milestone is not just a testament to CNH’s capabilities but also a reflection of India’s growing significance as a global hub for agricultural machinery and innovation.
